Welcome message from Georgie Burbury, Chair, Red Meat Updates

As the incoming Chair of the Red Meat Updates Working Group, I would like to welcome you to the Tasmanian Red Meat Updates for 2016.

Red Meat Updates is a producer driven initiative for the sheep and cattle industries that has gained significant traction over the past three years. It was first held in 2013 and since then has earned a reputation as being a forum where the State’s leading red meat producers can gain a snapshot of key industry research findings, resources and tools, training options and technological innovations. It is a day where producers, advisers, researchers and industry stakeholders come together to network and learn. There is no other forum in Tasmania where you will see such a large number of red meat producers in one place.

As a producer, I am excited about Red Meat Updates 2016. The seasonal conditions in the last year have been particularly challenging for grazing operations in Tasmania. The theme for 2016 will be inspired by the learnings of the last twelve months and looking for ways we can work smarter, not just harder, to achieve our goals.

I look forward to seeing you in July at the 2016 Red Meat Updates.
